Thank you Essilor Vision Foundation for sponsoring this post. EVF provides over 500,000 pairs of glasses per year to people in need and works with schools, eye doctors, charities, and corporations to help build vision ambassadors focused on serving their community.
My family is my world and I will forever carry them in my heart. My parents raised my three brothers and me with lots of love. I come from a family where my dad worked hard for the family, while my mom stayed home and made sure we were all taken care of. My mom, of course, had her hands full from taking care of the household and worrying about her four kids. That also included being healthy and taking us to our yearly doctor checkups.
My mom became a young mom at 18 and, of course she knew that she would provide the best for her baby. My dad and my mom knew they wanted to have at least four kids, so as my dad went out and worked for his family, my mom would be at home taking care of us. As we got older and started school, my parents always bought us what we needed, but sometimes parents get thrown curve balls and they must be able to know how to handle the situation. My brother was in need of eyeglasses to be able to see the classroom board like his other classmates.
What was my parents reaction? They had to come up with extra money for their child, which meant they had to hustle harder. They were motivated to work hard for what their child needed. But not everyone’s parents are able to work more. Some struggle to provide and anything extra their little ones need sometimes isn’t an option. But good thing we have options for parents now. Did you guys know that a fourth of parents can’t afford a full vision exam for their kids? And we can help others that can’t provide for their kids by donating to Essilor Vision Foundation today. So if we can help out, why not help others so they can be able to see the world with the help of a new pair of the correct eyeglasses.
Now that I’m a mom of two, I know the feeling that my own mother had when she found out that my brother was in need of eyeglasses with my own son. With my husband’s work, we are able to take my son for his eye exam, and get his glasses as well. But I can’t imagine other families that aren’t able to provide for their own kids. It’s easy for someone to overlook eyesight if they don’t have to worry about it. But for struggling families, vision correction often slips through the cracks. Your gift can change that. Donate to provide a vision exam and glasses to a child in need.
I know that if my parents were able to receive some kind of help, they would have loved it, especially when they had to provide for four kids and a household. By donating to the Essilor Vision Foundation, we will be helping a struggling family, and they wouldn’t be receiving a bill in the mail for vision and glasses. Isn’t that amazing! When it comes to a child’s vision, sometimes a child doesn’t know they can ask their parents for help. So let’s be their advocate by donating because your donation can make a big difference by providing a vision exam and glasses for a child.
I know I wouldn’t want my child to suffer, so let’s all get together and help out a family in need.
I love that they are doing this! And also that you are helping bring awareness to such a good cause
He is so cute in those glasses! We just visited the eye doc and ordered Kam a pair. I need to get my older two in a checked, even though I think their vision is good. But this post is so true and sounds like a great foundation!
Love this mama. This is so amazing! I’ve never needed glasses but my husband relies on them and they are so crucial. Such an amazing foundation.
What a great cause! You are doing amazing work to bring awareness to this issues sis!
